Hypertension
DASH-aligned meals that can rival blood pressure medications
Overview
The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet is one of the most well-studied dietary interventions in medicine. A meta-analysis of 17 randomized controlled trials demonstrated significant blood pressure reductions that can rival first-line antihypertensive medications. Our meals are designed to align with DASH principles — rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium, and fiber while carefully controlling sodium.
Why Diet Matters
Americans consume an average of 3,400 mg of sodium per day — 50% more than the 2,300 mg guideline limit and more than double the AHA ideal of 1,500 mg. Reducing average U.S. sodium intake to 2,300 mg/day over 10 years would prevent 895,200 cardiovascular events and 252,500 CVD-related deaths.

DASH-Sodium Trial (NEJM 2001)
Demonstrated that combining the DASH diet with sodium reduction produces additive blood pressure lowering. DASH + low sodium achieved the greatest reductions.
2020 Meta-analysis (Advances in Nutrition)
Confirmed DASH diet reduces SBP by 3.2 mmHg and DBP by 2.5 mmHg on average; effects greater in hypertensive subjects.
